They do create wealth for their employers and the nation. The figures, I suspect, will still be quite lopsided. However, it's wealth that goes straight into the hands of the wealthiest: The business owners, the CEOs and the executive level who get to pad their salaries by finding non-Americans to work at 1/2 price.
So the rich get richer and the other classes get poorer when de facto slave labor exists in the US in such quantities.
Eventually, it will bite even the rich as their corporations crash due to the collection of too much wealth in the hands of too few. That's why the worst corporate parasites move around a lot leaving destroyed and insolvent companies in their wake one or two years per company - and then move on.
We need to help Mexico get its act together. Unfortunately, they are amazingly nationalistic for a group that, as a whole, completely ignores the laws of our nation. Expecting change in Mexico is like expecting change in Iran or Afghanistan. The cultures are arrested and no real growth is possible for a variety of reasons.
My new solution is to legalize illegals and TAX the heck out of them - 60 percent tax bracket automatically. Track, them, register them and collect the money from them - and if they don't pay their taxes then they get imprisoned like everyone else.
The employers will no longer benefit because they will be citizens of the US and will have to disavow their Mexican citizenship. All of Mexico will not come over because the tax bracket and threat of imprisonment will dissuade at least a few. The government will benefit because they will get rich off the backs of the poor - which is what they love to do anyway.
The toughest part will be making sure you register and track the constant influx. Neighborhood sweeps will probably be very common as the National Guard and Immigration raid homes and force citizenship on the citizenship evaders, with fingerprinting, retina scans, papers - the works.
When the left gets what they want - most of them will end up complaining just as loudly if we had wen ahead and built a concrete wall and electrified fences.

That's true.
