Another possibility:
Condescension.
"The Senator doesn't seem to understand..." Awww. Poor widdle Barack doesn't know how to tie his shoes. The second time he resorted to that, my head came up. The third time, I wished someone in the audience had had a cream pie.
He also talked over Obama when Obama had let McCain have his uninterrupted time, as if being loud makes one correct. I was pleased when Obama said to Jim Lehrer that they should move on.
He exhibited the kind of behavior that women have come to loathe when it's directed at us.
