The fear is that the foreigners who have bought into these derivatives will move all of their investments out of the USA.
I say let them. Prices will fall, and those of us who truely believe in the US will be presented with a golden buying opportunity.
The government can loan americans money to buy american instead of gifting a bunch of soveign wealth funds a "bail-out".
A depression would be better for the US Taxpayer which is badly in need of a wake-up call anyway.
