Supreme Court nominations are a major factor for both liberals and conservatives in this election, and I'm surprised more people don't put it higher on their list of reasons for voting for one candidate or the other.

I don't think McCain is a lock on making conservative nominations, given his bipartisan tendencies, but I know Obama will be making very liberal ones.

A number of conservatives were cranky about McCain picking on Cox, but mostly because Cox has some pretty good conservative credentials in a place where they are few and far between.
