I can tell you from personal experience morphine is more fun than Chemo, but it is very addictive, whereas Chemo can save your life.
(There must be a good metaphor in there- Sometimes what makes you feel good is bad for you, and what makes you feel bad is good for you. ???)
Translated towards the bailout; The bailout may be good shortterm, it is bad for us longterm. Doing nothing may be bad shortterm but good for us longterm. ???
