ELECTORAL BLOG ELIMINATES PRESIDENTIAL SLOG (TOP STORIES)

If you're interested in the presidential election campaign but don't
have the time or patience to slog through the endless polls and
counter-polls, Caltech alum Sam Wang '86 may have the ideal solution
for you. Wang, now a professor at Princeton, is one of the brains
behind a website predicting how our upcoming presidential election
would pan out if it were held today, tomorrow, or any given day
between now and November 4. In an article earlier this year in
Caltech News[1], Wang described his methodology, which uses a
meta-analysis that he wrote to distil recent state-level polls into
a precise snapshot of Electoral College votes. It earned him five
minutes of fame in 2004 when he accurately predicted the final
result of the Bush-Kerry contest, right down to the Electoral
College count. Will he be right again this year? Check out his blog,
Princeton
Election Consortium: A First Draft of Electoral History[2].
