I don't think there is a connection.
I was a pretty disgusted to see an article headlined 'Britain sides with Trump on Brexit' as if Trump had anything to do with it. I think it was a Breitbart article, so didn't bother clicking through for obvious reasons.
My own opinion on Brexit was fairly neutral but leaned towards staying in the EU. My only reasoning is that ghe UK leaving would weaken the EU collectively, and I think that's a bad thing.
