Bill Kristol to Sarah Palin - "I pointed out that Obama surely had a closer connection to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright than to Ayers — and so, I asked, if Ayers is a legitimate issue, what about Reverend Wright?"
"She didn’t hesitate: “To tell you the truth, Bill, I don’t know why that association isn’t discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character. But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up.â€
And here are a couple examples of Palin's spiritual influences. There are more, and some interesting pastors.
The most recent pastor at the Assembly of God in Wasilla, Ala., where Palin was raised - the pastor arriving in 1999, in a church that Palin left in 2002 - later warned that critics of President Bush might be banished to Hell and that people who voted for John Kerry might not gain entry to Heaven, the Huffington Post reports.
"Her campaign says she doesn't mix her faith with government business. But Palin did ask her audience to pray for a $30 billion natural gas pipeline she is on a mission to build in Alaska. In the video Palin says, "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas pipeline built. So pray for that ... I can do my job there in developing my natural resources. But all of that doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart is not good with God."
I would think they'd just want to leave this all alone.
