The Democrats have run the House by a 31-seat margin for almost two years.

To the best of my knowledge in that period of time they did nothing serious to deal with these financial issues. They didn't try to repeal bad regulations, or re-install good ones. They did have some nice hearings, and I'm sure they make interesting reading.

Then when it finally hit the fan, they ran around bashing into walls.

Bush is going to be gone in a few months. The Congress will still be there, and odds are very good that it will be mostly the same Congress we have now.

Rationally, the Congressional approval rate is a hell of a lot more relevant than Bush's.
