Too bad it has to be Frank Tipler making the suggestion
His 1994 book, The Physics of Immortality, pretty much put the lid on
his being taken seriously by the mainstream science community.
So even if Tipler does have a good idea here, it may have to be done
by someone else to get noticed. Or Tipler might surprise us all and
become the genius of the 21st Century. Or probably not.
