Sorry to spoil your little gotcha post pointing a finger at somebody who worked for Clinton. Clinton famously "reached across the aisle" himself, and for his trouble, he got a Treasury Secretary who was taken in not just by Greenspan, but by your thoroughly discredited economic ideology.

Facts have a well-known Liberal bias, and it's a fact that every time the deregulationistas get their way, disaster follows. It happened in the '80s with S&L deregulation; it happened with the California energy markets, bringing us Enron and blackouts; and it's happened again with deregulation of and refusal to regulate MBSes and other derivatives.

Laissez-faire capitalism is a disaster waiting to happen, and requires regulation for its own good. I'd like to think we've learned that lesson, finally, but I'm not optimistic listening to ideologues like you continue to spout the laissez-faire religious nonsense.
