Bush has managed to fail to accomplish anything during his administration but has crippled the economy and the next 4 or 5 administrations. An awesome accomplishment.

Bush has managed to tie up the US for the next 20 years with the costs and follies of Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, Bush has managed to screw up the economy at the same time.

So his legacy? Social programs will suffer. "Entitlements", those fundamental elements of civilization, will suffer. All manner of research will suffer - space, physics, medical research, severely constrained if not eliminated as part of the Bush Legacy.

The US manned orbit plans? The Moon? Very few dollars left for that. I would guess the US becomes a minor partner with Russia or the EU on some vehicle. Mass transit and other improvements to the infrastructure will be cut severely. That includes money to develop technology and infrastructure for alternative energy. Credit the Bush Legacy.

A democratic and stable Middle East? Thanks to the neglect of the Israeli-Palestinian problem and mis-managing the wars that's not to be even after a $2 trillion cost over the long term. Negative return on that. Bush Legacy.

Nope. Bush has guaranteed his place in history. "Quagmires 'R' Us". By failing at everyting and dooming his successors to what will look like failure.
