Very scary.

The market seems to gyrate wildly on the slightest news or rumors. I don't know why it seems to do so more in recent years than it did in earlier times and to greater extents--I suspect some of it has to do with instant information and computerized transactions.

I don't see today's climb as very reassuring--it might be just more spasming. Get back to me when it's up for a couple of weeks and doesn't go up or down 400 points if someone in Washington or Wall Street farts.
