A great statesman
I experienced some of the Trudeau era from the vantage point of Alberta, and therefore wasn't "supposed" to like him--and certainly not admire him. In the end it was impossible, though. How could one not admire the intellect and the dedication to mission that he exhibited?
The reason Canada's population is so low, of course, is that we had to leave room for Trudeau's ego, but in a man of such remarkable abilities, the ego seemed at home. I wonder if we'll see the likes of him again.
