Richard Nixon on Laugh-In
Forty years ago, Richard Milhouse Nixon went on Laugh-In, the most
popular and considered radical television series at the time and said
one of its most famous catch phrases "Sock it to me!" He actually said
it more like a question, though. And five years later, boy did he get it
socked to him!
The Democratic nominee for President in 1968, Hubert Humphrey, later
said that not doing the same as Nixon did was probably what cost him
the election.
Has the real Obama been on SNL yet? I know he's been on the late night circuit.
