We wouldn't be speaking anything
We'd all be dead, both sides and everyone in-between.
The MSNBC/AP version of the story quotes someone saying at the time,
the military may have been testing a new capability to project false
radar images at incoming enemy fighters to confuse and frighten them.
I know it isn't as exciting as an actual alien spaceship, but it does have
the advantage of being plausible, plus it would explain why the pilot
said he never actually saw the object except on radar and why it
suddenly vanished just when the pilot was ordered to fire his rockets
at it.
