re: This has all the warning signs of a pseudoscience hoax...

From what I see the VC money is real, at least several tens of millions. Plus some big business 'names' so if there is pure fraud as opposed to an internal con job, some rich and powerfull folks are gonna get sued bigtime. Rowan U is not a citadel of physics knowhow and it's possible that the 'prof' is in on the deal if it's bogus.

Besides the improbability of 'hydrino theory' (wish it were valid) what flags me most as bogus is the continuing slipage in the dates when they were gonna hand out 50KW demo units. First NextBigFuture had the demo going to be this past September. Now it's 2009 and even possibly 2010. RED FLAG here even though all us tech developers are well acquainted with slipages. But this smells of stringing folks along. How freakin hard is it to simply give MIT Lincoln lab or a name technical university a 50KW black box and say "measure the power output"???

This skeptical post will be a real hoot if BLP turns out to revolutionize quantum physics and interestingly cosmology. But it won't.
