resource heavy

yeah I realize there is no upgrade path. I think I can find the OS for XP 64 pretty cheap though. Formatting the Hard drive and installing fresh is what I would have done anyway.

The laptop is pretty resource heavy, though I still need more RAM. I've started using Revit lately which is a 3D Building modeler. The more RAM the better it performs. There is a way to trick Windows into allocating more Ram to programs, but I'd prefer to just have more RAM rather than steal it from the OS.

I bought the laptop back in January. Here's the specs. The amazing thing is it just cost me $1,004.88 (I stuck XP Pro on it from a dead Dell PC I had laying around so ignore the XP Home stuff).

I like the size of the 15.4" monitor, though at times I wish it were a 17".

Even though the graphics card is awesome it is surprisingly lackluster when you plug in a second monitor and try and run 3d graphics on it. Laptop Video cards just don't copare to PC Video Cards. I hear NVIDAI has some new performance drivers out I'll have to try. For everyday stuff and watching movies plugging it into my 32" HiDef LCD TV looks gorgeous.
