Believe it or not!
I stood exactly at that spot (Devils Punchbowl, Eagle Creek, Oregon) one late November morning in a very good imitation of walking on water.
Another guy and I were backpacking, intending on heading up through a snowstorm about 8 miles up Eagle Creek. I was wearing snowshoes, the river was down, and I wanted to take that picture of the Punchbowl. I waded out there through shallower water, aimed my camera and got my shot.
My friend took a picture of me. I was about 75 feet out in the water which was still shallow. The snowshoes were underwater, but my boots were only about an inch in.
It's a great picture. I don't know where it is or I'd post it.
