CNN fact checking

They left out a small part of Khalidi's university title.

So, are we assuming that Khalidi strongly supported Obama's political career in 2000 and 2003 because he thought Obama was pro-Israel? Is Khalidi known for being unusually gullible?

Maybe he is. For the record, Obama has declared himself to be officially pro-Israel for this election. I have no idea what he has told people like Khalidi in the past.

That Obama was soaking in hard-left radicals in his early career is beyond debate. But it's the sort of company one would be expected to keep if you wanted to get ahead in politics where he was. Now, suddenly he's a moderate. Stealth candidate? Or is he just one of those politicians who will say anything to anybody to get in power, and once there, have no real idea what to do based on his own non-existent principles? Not so much Marx as Zelig?

Is the Khalidi flap irrelevant for the same reason Biden's idiotic statements are? It's just Obama being Obama, playing to the crowd, and doesn't mean anything?

Obama seems to have abandoned a lot of earlier leftist positions, including summary withdrawal from Iraq regardless of conditions, yet somehow groups like MoveOn still support him. Are they thinking the same thing? "That's just Obama, playing the moderates?" I've read an unnerving number of articles by people--on the Left AND the Right--convinced that once Obama is elected, he'll morph into exactly what they want. Has he ever given a speech where everybody didn't leave thinking this man believes exactly what they do? They can't all be right.

Somebody's going to be unhappy in a year or two if Obama is elected. Don't be entirely sure it will only be the conservatives.

Here's a test:

Is there a position Obama holds that flies in the face of the Democratic agenda or platform? Something he's believed for a long time where he's most definitely not in agreement with the leftist base? McCain has lots of things like this (too many, IMO). Immigration and climate come to mind off the top of my head.
