News story here.

A side note (skip if you don't like screediness):

I stand in admiration of the Democratic Party's ability to reconstruct history. We have largely succeeded in Iraq. This was due to the Administration continuing the effort to win, changing our tactics and the military leadership. This success was in spite of continuous attempts to force an unconditional capitulation by the Democratic Party and their allies. Had they succeeded, had the Democrats had a little more political power, Iraq would almost certainly be burning right now.

Remember things like this? MoveOn's ads? Remember bill after bill with withdrawals appended to them, fought back each time? Remember Obama at the head of the "withdraw now" forces? Remember Pelosi's speeches? The attacks on Petraeus, and the fight against the surge?

Apparently, neither does anyone else.

One way to tell if something isn't going according to the liberal agenda is that news on it simply...vanishes. There's lots of gaps like this in the news lately.

Iraq isn't even on the radar in this election. I can't think of a clearer sign of success.
