They tried awfully hard to make Spirit and Opportunity resemble a
certain fictional robot with binocular camera eyes on a pole from a
very recent Disney-Pixa film. Especially with the shot of one of the
rovers looking up at the starry night sky (with zero light pollution,
how nice that must be) while commenting on how distant and all
alone they are on an alien planet.

I don't have a problem with this comparison necessarily, I just got
a kick out of it. I guess this means that the next probe to Mars will
look like a white bullet, be much more sophisticated, and have a
female personality. You think the two rovers will fight over her?
