There is the old theory...
That life on Earth is the result of some trash left by some visitors
a long, long time ago. Perhaps this trash includes their own
excrement bags, assuming they were organic in the first place.
It's about as good as any other theory at this point and would explain
a number of things about us.
Of course the question begs, where did THEY come from?
