So, you saying we shouldn't think CO2 emission is good because 10,000 year into the future we might need a lot CO2 in our atmosphere to help prevent the planet from freezing and possibly killing billions [or trillions] of people?
But what about the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children, of the children?
Maybe they will forget how to make mass quantities of CO2?
And I need not tell you, that it's been pretty difficult for us [of the more rugged stature] to do this. For example it's thought that prior to 1750 global CO2 were only about 280 ppm.
How much longer before we can double it to 560 ppm?
Keep in mind: "Without any feedbacks, a doubling of CO2 (which amounts to a forcing of 3.7 W/m2) would result in 1°C global warming".
A 50% increase would be 420 ppm and we could run out oil before we even get 1/2 way there.
And if our children^20 see that we don't have the courage to even get 1/2 way to doubling, how will they feel about doing a more daunting task?
Ask yourself, if we knew we had to get to 560 ppm and then doubled 560 ppm get to 1120 ppm wouldn't seem like too much work?
Perhaps they will simply abandon Earth and go live on the Moon or something. But then they will be really weak and skinny, and not eat their oatmeal.
