That is the type of thinking that Bush had and look where it got us.
He THOUGHT he had a mandate (and didn't) and he screwed it up. Obama is trying to NOT make the mistakes other Presidents have made. He wants a variety of ideas so that he can determine what policies are best for this country where Bush excluded everyone but "yes" men (and women). You never know who's going to come up with the "outside the envelope" workable idea.
He hasn't been sworn in yet, hasn't named his Cabinet and you're being critical of the advice he's being given by pundits, et al? He'll decide what advice to take. He's been pretty good at charting his own course so far.
