The Energizer bunny?
Many of these localized bursts (GRBs etc)appear to be associated with binary collapsar events, but this appears to be a continuous flux of electrons, so maybe this does have somethng to do with exotic physics.
If they could localize this guy, they could check for bremstrallung radiation (energy radiated by high energy electrons accellerated in an intense magnetic field, as in the Crab Nebula).
Then again, "flasks" of high energy electron gas have been proposed as plasma control mechanisms for some fusion drives....
