Hope & Change re: NASA's future

I for one would really welcome serious change at NASA. I would hope that some administration, possibly this one might upset the applecart and set clear new objectives. Since Apollo we've spent close to half a trillion dollars on manned spaceflight and what do we have? Trapped going round and round in LEO, we have a glorified SkyLab that doesn't even equal the new science we learned (human physiology) on 70s era SkyLab. With nearly 50 years of incredible technical advances, this glorified jobs and congressional pork program can't even get us BACK to the moon.

I hope for change, but since I'm a rational being and not an emotion ruled automaton, I'm skeptical that any change of substance will occur. I could be wrong.
