re: Perhaps Neanderthals next.

I never understood why people were so bent out of shape about cloning. I think there's a lot of misunderstanding about the process due to years of science fiction about creating "duplicates" that weren't "real," usually in a matter of minutes or hours, usually out of some kind of bizarre machine, and nine times out of ten, usually with the same memories.

A clone of you is like having had a twin born a number of years after you were. Same things in common, and same differences any twins have. Even more differences than with twins, since the cloned person would not share a childhood with you like a twin does.

A cloned Neanderthal would be a human baby. I have read enough about Neanderthals to know they were more human than many homo sapiens, even if they don't have the "right" pedigree. Chimpanzees? I think plenty of female scientists would line up to carry the baby to term.

I think we should do the mammoths ASAP.
