$306 billion for Citi, 0 for auto makers. Is Citi less foolish than GM?

"Government to back $306 billion in Citi loans. Feds will also take direct $20 billion stake in troubled financial giant."

This to me is a puzzlement. The argument against preserving the jobs of a whole bunch of blue collar workers is that their companies have been foolish.

And yet there are trillions and trillions being funnelled into now socialized securities business. Who weren't foolish?

One might suppose it's because the wealthy would lose money if the securities industry collapsed, but could still buy cars from foreign carmakers.

Blaming Union workers for being greedy while bailing out wealthy speculators seems to be the real class warfare. The US government is transferring enormous wealth at the expense of the middle class. Conservatives seem to simply hate the working person.

And Bush claims he doesn't know anything about it. Somehow that's easy to believe.
