The Bad Astronomer on UFOs

I know it's like bailing the ocean with a bucket, but what the hey:

And again, Edgar Mitchell may be a fine person and was once a good
astronaut who went to the Moon, but that does not necessarily make
him an expert on alien life and their motives.

If Mitchell wants to claim that ETI have visited Earth and the
governments know about it, he needs to do more than just drag out
more anecdotes. Having evidence and allowing ones peers to analyze
the data is the mark of a true scientist and science. Otherwise it is
storytelling and cult behavior.
