"Rice: Terrorists Behind India Attacks 'Must Be Brought to Justice'. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says Pakistan must provide complete cooperation as India seeks answers in last week's deadly terrorist attacks in Mumbai."
It would seem that what that region needs most from the rest of the world is people who will encourage and facilitate a collaborative effort to ensure this can't happen again. And then to catch the perps and planners who weren't killed already. That would imply cooperation with the Paks at all levels.
This seems a bit curious. The US doesn't have a dog in this fight except in a most general, and strained, sense. And Rice represents a political philosophy based upon force, not negotiation, with diplomacy as a last resort. And that area is way too volatile, large and diverse for India to be able to militarily force the Paks to do much. One might ask how well Rice's ideology has worked for the US before injecting themselves and their methods into a tense situation such as this.
Rice and her ideological approach simply spells trouble for everyone over there. I will concede she's known as the most diplomatic of all the creatures on the feedlot, and that doesn't say much. It's too bad there isn't an American in power yet who could work with both sides to create a framework for cooperation.
