Murmurs of Mortgage Moratoriums
I heard Obama mention them briefly this morning. I think a few states enacted them during the depression.
This is what one union in Ireland is saying.
I don't agree with forgiving the interest. It should at least be attached as a lien against the property.
I haven't really thought through the negative consequences but I would sleep better knowing I'm not going to lose my house because I lost my job.
I would also spend more without so much worry. If everyone started spending, the recession would be shorter, getting people back to work and- making their mortgage payments.
