President-elect Obama's biological father
was of course from Kenya.
So it's going to come as no surprise
that as President, Mr. Obama will
play host to the President of Kenya
as one of the first foreign leaders to visit him.

What should they talk about and agree upon?
Kenya is not a major world player afterall.

Piracy!

It's a growing threat to shipping in the Indian Ocean.
American civilian ships are hardly immune from attacks.

WORSE! America gets much of its oil from nations near and by
the Indian Ocean; and tankers use the Indian Ocean
to carry much of that oil to America's shores.

How do you deal with it?

Kenya has to play a part, but Kenya's navy is rather small
and weak.

President Obama should offer 'mothballed' US Navy warships
like Frigates to Kenya's Navy in exchange for the use of
airstrips in Kenya for the Pentagon to use to send AC-130
gunships and unmanned Predator reconnaisance aircraft
to patrol off Somalia's coast.
