Remember that after Germany's 'humiliating' defeat
in the First World War, November, 11th, 1918,
an obscure Austrian corporal lying in a hospital ward,
temporarily blinded in a mustard-gas attack, swore REVENGE
against the 'enemies' of Germany [including America] and vowed to AVENGE
her defeat....Millions of Germans sympathized with his goals.
90 years later?
There are 1,000's if not millions of Iraqis who
chafe at America humiliating and crushing Iraq's military,
many of them feel humiliated by it...
[Imagine if the shoe were on the other foot]
You can bet there is probably some Sunni Baathist,
who, being much smarter that Sadaam ever was, but
having the same ruthless streak, yearns to inflict on
America and its military a lesson and a humiliation
America will never forget.
That [still] obscure Iraqi would need to have a charismatic
personality and oratory that would appeal to Iraqi's pride
and patriotism in their historical roots [Babylon] and distrust and even scorn of America's culture and politics.
He could get into power either by vote or coup.
And by the time he could achieve power, Iraq's military will have
been restored, retrained, remodernized, while America's
military presence in Iraq will have be reduced to a few thousand men and women who would find themselves vulnerable to surprise
events.
