Nicer, but not saints or our superiors
Bonobo apes are generally nicer than most primates by comparison, as they often settle
conflicts via sex. But they are not pacificists despite the efforts of some to make them
seem superior to humans. We are all very much related in every way.
People used to think that chimpanzees were smart and kind while gorillas were big
mean ol' savages. Turns out it's the chimpanzees who are the nasty ones (they
rape, pillage, and have wars with other tribes of chimpazees) and gorillas are the
relatively peaceful herbivores by comparison.
