Usually the sign reads "Don't kick me". The person is bent over, ass out, complaining that everyone kicks them and they don't know why.
Finally people can't take it any more and kick the shit out of them.
Whereupon the sign-wearer explains the sign again, to all within earshot, still bent over.
It's sort of like the folks who enter a relationship saying, "I don't play games! I don't like games, and I don't like the people who play them!"
Guess who is already thinking of playing games and, as a matter of fact, is already playing a game?
