By definition, an MRBM [Medium-Range Ballistic Missile]
falls short of an arbitrary range of 1,000 miles [1,600 KM]
for its nuclear warhead [1,000Ibs plus?].
An IRBM [Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile],
falls into the range of a 1,000 miles upto 3-4,000 miles
for its nuclear payload.
[Thor, Polaris, Juno, etc]
ICBM's have nuclear delivery ranges greater than 4,000 miles
[Atlas, Titan, Minuteman, etc.]
