re: A comet visible to the naked eye ?

This comet is going to be a treat for the New Year. Might even benefit telescope sales from first timers with awareness promotions, as this is, The International Year of Astronomy.

It will be an easy find too, as it will pass only a couple degrees from Spica, then a week later a couple degrees from Saturn, then a couple degrees from Regulus, then a pass near the Beehive Cluster and then will hang out in Gemini for over a month.

Early AM viewing here in the US west coast during Feb. looks to be the best, but as Lulin heads towards Gemini after sunset viewing will be the norm for higher altitude observing.

Now all we need is few clear night skies.
