Spirit left the edge of home plate yesterday - and will now make (slow) progress to the south. She really REALLY needs a lucky-cleaning. She got a superb one about two years ago on the east of home plate in 'Silica Valley'. That might be a possible route.

Currently operating on less power than was commonly considered 'survival' for Spirit. The rover drivers have got very VERY good at making the most of ever single Whr of power that vehicle gets.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, you know when your foot hovers above the gas pedal before you utterly floor it? Expect MUCH driving at Meridiani Planum in the next few weeks. Just got to finish up at Santorini (where Opportunity is right now) and then she's pedal to the metal.
