"Martian rock arrangement not alien handiwork." A critique.
Here is another attempt by mainstream science to explain away that which it doesn't understand. While I agree that it is not "aliens" who are moving those rocks around, there is a much simpler way to explain it than the tortured reasoning employed by the authors of the article cited by podrock. They say those rocks are moving into the wind because the sand crystals get blown aside and create a hole into which the rock moves, but doesn't get buried. Whatever!
There is one small photo included with the article, which is duplicated here.
Now I will admit that's a small photo, with a lot of rocks in it. Figuring out which rocks are relevant to which message is part of the art and science of this sort of thing. However, a skilled, trained multi-displinarian can decypher relationships and their spacing based upon a very close examination of that photo. I have to admit a 58 x 58 pixel image projected onto my monitor is straining at the limits of human perception. But not human persistance. Obviously, the square root of 2.67 figures into the relative spacing and if one applies Fourier Transforms to selected elements one can see very clearly the message being conveyed. One is tempted to call these "rock circles", only they aren't 'circles' as you can see.
"John 3.16" stands out, fairly leaps out. Now if it were "aliens" it wouldn't be in English. Duh!
Additionally, there are any number of rocks which fit together into the form of a classic cross. There is also a fish symbol, with it's head down and toward center, and tail toward the top and seen edge on. This fish is complete with gills. Further work on selected elements seems to be yielding another message but more needs to be done. It's looking like "PTL" now, but more work needs to be done.
Since the rocks are moving and are being used to convey a message, the question becomes: "What will the next message be?" "How shall it be interpreted?" "Should we send a secret rover to Mars to take pictures across the spectrum to reveal what is sending the message?"
This may not be completely accurate, but is a less tortured explanation of how rocks can move into the wind than blowing sand, digging holes, and so on.
I'm delighted to have been of service in this matter. Rarely can one contribute to the general body of knowledge in such a meaningful manner. It's humbling.
