The reality is that news in the US is heavily censored. Anything which attempts to explain the Palestinian situation is attacked as anti-Semitic and boycotts threatened. The Palestinians have no lobby.

The realities are more obvious to other countries with freer presses.

For instance, what are the Palestinians with no army, navy, etc., supposed to do to prevent a more powerful neighbor from building cities on their land?

Were you against apartheid? How about that wall in Palestinian territory paid by Americans protecting Israeli cities on Palestinian lands? Sort of like if Mexico built cities in Texas and walled them off. That would irritate the US.
