My most fervent HZ wish would be you could understand that.

Unfortunately I'm sure the Conservatives think it's unpatriotic, unAmerican, and exposing a vulnerable mind to a dangerous influence.

It's as if viewpoints of others are so powerful, so correct, so attractive that even reading them will sway the minds of those to whom they are exposed.

I aware that one prominent HZ Conservative refused to read a Richard Clarke book because he didn't need Clarke telling him what to think. Imagine that! There isn't the ability to read and accept others points of view as their points of view, one reads to be told what to think.

I'm hoping that some loyal American in the depts of Foggy Bottom is reading Pravda. Maybe even some other things printed in Russia. And Iran. And so on.

Makes for a more understandable worldview. More accurate.

It's the opposite of seeing others as hating freedom, being jealous of democracy, envying our former material wealth which are nonsence constructs. Only good for the low-information jingoists.

I guess that's why.

And I only recently discovered it, enjoy the site. Went through the slideshow on the American carrier, too.
