The 'duh' dept. - "Pentagon: Gitmo detainees returning to fight"

First, anyone going through the American gulag would come out hating America no matter how they went in. Many, most or all of these folks could have been innocent. (Their families and friends wouldn't be real fond of the US, either.)
Secondly, many POWs return to duty upon release. McCain for one.
Third, with whom do they "sign up"? I didn't realize there were rolls.
Fourth, this information is coming from the Pentagon. The US DoD has not been known for it's veracity. In fact, just the opposite. The last 8 years they have been known to lie. A lot.
