I have to say...
...that if it wasn't for Tom Van Flandern and the other "face" on Mars kooks, my latent interest in planetary science might not have been rekindled. It was doing the research to post responses on boards like this one that motivated me to learn as much as I could about Mars and the solar system.
So while Tom's "out there" perspective on things helped to feed the nonsense factory, it also stimulated an interest in science on the part of people such as myself.
One hopes, that for Tom's sake, the pathway to heaven is faster than the speed of gravity - whatever that may be.
