I don't think there was the bitterness and polarization there has been in past times. Obama is seen as non-threatening, and Bush, to his credit, seemed to facilitate the transfer of power.

I certainly didn't expect it of Bush, a pleasant surprise. And apparently he resisted the opportunity to pardon everyone under the Sun.
