Does the instant that is my present--my "now," to use Brian Greene's terminology--correspond in any way with the "now" of people around me? Is my now in what my neighbor would call either the future or the past?
Even if we can agree on why a "now" exists, can we presume that there's a universal now even for people who occupy the same frame of reference?
