Space/Science » in reply to NASA and ESA jointly to, Europa or Titan

Great stuff

It's a pdf file for folks like me who had trouble downloading.

Interesting line on p. 6 of the Europa mission: "flight systems would eventually impact Europa," the thing they made such a big deal about avoiding for Galileo. More info on page 26. I'd be worried about the plutonium batteries melting holes for earth bacteria to hide in, but what do I know.

The Titan mission only has a few Enceladus flybys, but a 6-month balloon mission included for Titan. Sounds like no Enceladus-centered mission is being considered.

I lean to Titan over Europa, although with Europa we "only" have to wait 16 years instead of 20 years from now to start seeing results.
