don't really know what the general consensus is over here. Personally I do believe that like any person holding a hot potato sometimes you have to ignore its hot or your end up droping it and rushing to put it to one side can cause you to drop it too.

I personal I believe the states belives in a Fire and forget not just in a technolgy front its so easy to duck and hide away when things get rough but the problems still there. When america went into Iraq It opened a possible second front to Iran which I saw back then as the real problem. Iran is running scared and causing problems in Iraq and Afganastan if we can get Iran to calmdown maybe just maybe the middle east will be a hellalot more stable.
