[rant]
This one really sticks in my craw.
President Obama is a smart fella [I grant you that] but he must be suffering
from a mental lapse or something when it comes to his campaign 'promise'
of scrapping NAFTA and reinstituting TARIFF WALLS
for America's business dealings and trade with its neighbors.

"Buy America" is his new slogan?... Hah!..What large company in America isn't
increasingly dependent on FOREIGN raw materials [becoming more scarce in America],
etc?...And to keep price low for John Q Public, American companies are increasingly dependent on outsourced production....Do you Americans want to pay HIGHER PRICES
on most of the hardware goods you take for granted?...I don't think so.

Has President Obama lost his mind?
Doesn't he read his history?
If he would dust off those history books of his he would find that
America made it economic situation during the Great Depression WORSE
by imposing HIGH TARIFFS on imports [both raw materials and finished goods].

Do you Americans know that you import MOST of your softwood lumber from...Canada?
Do you know Canada supplies more of your crude oil than Saudi Arabia does?
Do you know that many of the Big Three autos you drive more often than not have parts made up here in Canada?
Do you know that most of the strategic metals, like nickel, molybdenum, tungsten, etc
come from Canada?

Yea!...I'll give President Obama some slack. but his early performance and rhetoric
is starting to leave me doubting that he will succeed economically.
