It would be interesting who would have objections to having a 1/2 million cap on exec salary for those companies getting bailed out.
1/2 million dollars cap per year for exec who receiving tax payer money seems more than sufficient- but I hope it is seen as actually a cap and not as some kind of minimum wage for these execs.
In other words, most of these companies should not be paying the maximum of $500,000 per year to their execs and only in extraordinary circumstances be paying the top capped rate.
And I think all companies working for the govt - such as Lockheed with it's military contracts- should also have the same cap. And I'm surprised it isn't already a federal law.
[It also seems to me that any govt lobbyist should also have such a cap.]
Of course if a company isn't being bailed out or if company isn't creature of govt contracts there is no reason why the govt should be dictating how much people are being paid.
But if they going hat in hand to the govt, I'm all for providing numerous restrictions- assuming that all these restrictions are actually uniformly enforced and not selectively ignored.
